Résumé de la thèse (provisional) The Post-liberal anglophone theology of Colin Gunton has rarely been put in conversation with the unique contributions of latin-american theologians Jon Sobrino and Leonardo Boff. Despite their many differences, these two theological streams draw from similar wells in Trinitarian approaches to the concept of 'liberation' or 'freedom'. My project would seek to illucidate the complimentary features in Christology and Pneumatology across Gunton, Sobrino, and Boff that contribute to a renewed construction of liberation theology. My thesis will address the how Colin Gunton's theology of 'being and act' strengthen the emphasis of Jon Sobrino's and Leonardo Boff's Christology, to finally deliver the "real" through the historicized and pneumatic particularity of Jesus of Nazareth.
